The KWN program is a novel-writing initiative designed to help students plan, write, and self-publish their own novels. The program is aligned with education standards appropriate to each grade level.
The KWN program is designed for students, instructors, and homeschooling parents.
Our program offers a full English curriculum where students not only plan and write their own novels but also have the opportunity to publish them as a reward for their dedication and hard work.
We offer various novel writing courses tailored to different grade levels, including 9th-12th grade, 6th-8th grade, and 4th-5th grade, etc. Additionally, students will need to purchase specific books required for the course, in addition to the class registration fee. You can find information about our courses, pricing, and the academic calendar here.
The cost includes a $35.00 class registration fee, the first month’s tuition due at the time of signup, and material costs for books, which may vary depending on the course or grade level.
We ask for the first month’s tuition at registration to ensure that families stay one month ahead on payments. This helps us keep the program running smoothly and fairly for everyone. Unfortunately, not everyone lets us know when they decide to stop participating or keeps up with payments after the cutoff date. By collecting the first month upfront, we can avoid disruptions and focus on providing the best experience for all students.
No, we do not offer pro-rated tuition or refunds on prepaid tuition due to the consumable nature of the materials.
The primary difference is that video-only students do not receive feedback on their writing from the instructor or a peer review of their full novel. As a result, parents need to be more involved in the revision process for video-only students.
Classes are scheduled based on the grade level and the specific course offerings. We provide a timetable that outlines the available slots for each course, allowing you to select the most convenient time for your child. Detailed scheduling information is available upon registration.
Class duration varies by grade level but typically ranges from 45 minutes to a maximum of 1 hour and 30 minutes per session.
The goal of our program is to develop strong literacy skills that students can apply across all subjects. We aim to help students become critical thinkers and effective communicators, preparing them for academic success and real-world communication.
